water leak
How to tell if you have a water leak?
Sometimes water leaks are obvious and sometimes they are not. If you suspect you may have a leak or high water usage but are not completely sure, there are a few things you can look out for
Low water pressure in your faucets
Recently skyrocketing water bills
Wet or damp spots and mold on your walls or ceilings
If you hear water running when all your faucets are closed
Mold on your walls
If you suspect you may have a water leak, the best thing you can do
is to call a professional leak detector as soon as possible to prevent the problem from getting worse
What is leak detection
Water leak detection helps homeowners find, locate, leaks in their homes
Regardless of the size of the home. A professional leak detector can find hidden leaks professionally.
Leak detection, a non-invasive method for locating the source of water leaks, in your home as quickly as possible
Using special leak detection equipment, means that in many cases it is possible
to avoid unwanted destruction such as breaking walls, paving, tearing up lawns, cutting concrete, digging up soil,
How accurate is water leak detection?
Leak detection is the precise form of water leak detection
in your home. Using advanced equipment and technology, water leak detection can provide an accuracy of 100% to 90%.
This high accuracy rate means that minimal damage will be caused to your home and that you can fix the failure quickly
How do we find the best leak detector for us?
It is advisable to check and do a survey regarding the field of leak detection before calling a professional.
To check the training of the professional you are inviting,
Currently in the State of Israel there is no organized body that gives official certification to leak detectors and non-destructive pipe repairs.
A professional is measured by his years of experience and professional training he has undergone, preferably professional training from Europe,
such as Germany, the Netherlands, England, Switzerland, in these countries it is not possible to obtain the certification without past experience and success in practical learning.
In these countries, a plumber or leak detector, in order to obtain certification, must work for two years as an intern with a veteran professional in order to obtain certification and work authorization.
For example, for a professional with a European certification and 15 years of relevant activity experience in our company
Roytech Technologies, there are a variety of certification certificates.
Ways to detect leaks.
Thermal imaging
Gas detector
Moisture meter
Acoustic detection
Infrastructure locator
Pressure gauge
UV tests
360 fiber cameras
A professional who arrives at a leak site must have the variety of technologies to locate the leak.
Without the required equipment, it is not possible to locate the leak completely.
It is important to check with what equipment the "leak detector" comes to our home
It is already possible from the phone call or from the amount that the detector requires to understand how professional and what the detector uses.
Quality equipment costs money, and quite a bit of advanced technology solves the mental anguish and unnecessary destruction for the customer.
Fiber optic camera:
A fiber optic camera is not a camera that is inserted into the sewer pipe to identify failures
The camera can be used to see the cause of the leak and its exact location
There are types of cameras, some of which are 360-degree robotic cameras that can scan the sewer system and produce a findings report after the photo is taken. There are cameras with high image quality, the importance of which is that this causes accurate identification of the failure and not guessing, a low-quality camera does not provide a certain identification of the failure and causes us to pay unnecessary money.
An equally important professional photographer who knows how to identify the failure professionally and not guess. In a situation where the photographer is not sure about the photo, he can repair an undamaged area and not solve the problem for which he came. With the help of a professional pipeline photographer, additional tests can be performed before making a repair for certain identification if there is a suspicion of a failure in the pipeline that was photographed.
Pipe interior photography
Our technology for interior pipeline photography checks sewer infrastructure, drainage, sewer conditions vary from one pipe to another To another.
You never know what you're going to find in a pipe. And you need diagnostic tools and methods that can withstand any failure you find. With pipe internal photography, we give you the clearest and most comprehensive picture of the entire piping system.
With pipe internal photography, we provide all the intelligence you need to make smart decisions about planning and continuing your sewer/drainage treatment. With pipe internal photography, we know how to quickly and affordably identify which lines are not working properly. So you can focus your time and resources where they are needed. Pipe internal inspections are clean and accurate and can quickly and affordably determine the nature of the problem in the piping. At the end of the photography, a detailed report of pipe failures and treatment recommendations is issued
UV testing:
This is not a test that is performed on sewer/drainage/sludge pipes
This test combined with optical photography gives us a complete picture of the piping being tested and certainty about the leak and the remaining failure is visible in the piping where the photography was performed.
Thermal Camera
Thermal Imaging While a fiber optic camera works inside pipes, it is not useful for locating live water leaks. In these circumstances, a thermal camera can work really well for water pipes, especially hot water pipes that have a different temperature than the surrounding area.
If there is a leak, in hot water pipes it seeps into the surrounding area and temporarily heats it up. The change in temperature can be seen on the thermal camera, which will locate the leak.
Acoustic Detector
An acoustic system with a microphone held close to the suspected leak will amplify the sound of dripping water, allowing the plumber to figure out where the leak is. A microphone can be used as an alternative to a thermal camera, but is only effective if the sound of the water changes significantly.
Smaller leaks, or leaks where there is seepage rather than a high water burst, are difficult to detect with a microphone.
Gas Detector
Gas detectors inject gas into the water supply system. With this detector, you can detect small leaks that cannot be detected with a thermal camera or acoustic detector. The gas system that is inserted into the water pipe is made of hydrogen and nitrogen, which can quickly seep into the ground, and with the help of the sensor attached to the ground, you can quickly identify the leak area.
